Aunt Millie's Garden

I have been on a pattern/fabric diet for quite a while but I have fallen in love with this quilt.

I've been watching Carrie's Bee at A Passion For Applique and Lorre at Canterbury Quilts construct these blocks and I finally caved in and ordered the book yesterday. There is something about Piece o' Cake designs that I find irresistable.

Now I have a good reason to go fabric shopping because I know that I don't have enough of any fabric for the background. I just have to decide between black or red....maybe black AND red....hmmmmm.

If you want some really nice eye candy, go to Piece o' Cake and see the quilts their students made.

I can hardly wait for the book to get here, just so I can look at it LOL. Has anyone else made this beautiful quilt?

I love this quilt! I have the pattern but can't decide what color I want the backround to be.

I look forward to your version.

I love that quilt....but...would I ever do it or would it become another UFO for me. Aghhh, why aren't there more hours in the day or why can't my body just get by with a little less sleep? Can't wait to see your version of it.

I have a friend that started that quilt. She is getting it as a block of the month in the colors shown. I don't quite care for the red but I have seen it in other colors and it looks lovely. Good luck on it.

Is this applique stuff? I must take a course in that. I can't imagine doing this. Now you and Karen who do this stuff, well ok.

I can see why you caved. I especially like the quilt with the green outside border and the yellow one. They are all beautiful!

I love the applique in that book, and I agree about the blogs sharing of the quilt are amazing. Enjoy, and happy fabric hunting for your fabric.
