Slow Progress And A Squishy

I've gotten one house block completed:

You know how hind sight is....well I certainly wish I had thought this all out better in the first place. I really should have embroidered the quilting motif or at the very least used different colors of quilting thread so that the pattern shows up better. As much as I love the swirls, they kinda over power the project and I think I will pick out the quilting and redo it in different colored quilting thread. Nothing like making more work for myself LOL. I have a little quilty thing I need to do and have put this aside for a couple of days. That's ok, as I will need to make sure I have a better variety of thread and I can pick it up when I'm in town on Thursday.

I was at the Post Office today mailing some packages and was happy to see that my order from my friend Terri at From Here to Quilternity has arrived. Terri has such wonderful service and if you are into bright fabrics this is the place to go. These were the things I HAD to have :0)

Some of it will be for my Aunt Millie and the Stars & Sprigs projects, some of it was just because I wanted it. Nothin' makes a gal happier than a squishy in the mail.

Well, I guess I better get back to work, just home on my lunch break. You all have a great day!!

Crispy, I think it's sweet as can be. But I know you won't be happy until it's exactly the way you envision LOL :)

I think I must be scared of large prints cuz I never seem to pick anything like those out. They sure add "wow" to your quilts, though :)

Cute house block. I would not pick it out, but you are more of a perfectionist than I. Aren't squishies fun to receive? Like those fabrics.

Oh so very cute. If you don't want to pick it out you could just send it over here - I know it would be happy here.

Lovely squishies.

Personally, I wouldn't pick it out, but you are a perfectionist. At least it is only one block! Go for it.

Oh, I **LIKE** it!!! Love the pictorial quilting you chose to do. It looks fantastic just as it is in the photo. Does it not show up as much in real life? If it does show up that much, I think it's terrific the way it is. :)

The quilting looks so nice but I understand if something is not quite right it will bug you forever.

I love the delicate look of the block. Do you mean that when they are all put together that you won't see the swirls ...which will be known as clouds you know...on the completed project? Maybe try another colour on the next block to compare before taking it appart.

Dont pick it out! The swirls look overpowering in the picture because the houses haven't been quilted yet... The quilted house immediately comes to life and the detailed quilted background looks great next to the swirls!
