Where Has Time Gone????

Good grief where has the last 2 weeks gone?? The last of my visitors left on the 4th and I have been dabbling in many projects.

This is where I stack stuff I'm working on:

As you can see there is quite a variety.

Down on the bottom is the latest Stars & Sprigs block which is incomplete. I took this apart 3 times and decided that I'm not really interested in using brights for this project. Good thing I haven't gotten very far with it.

I have now come up with a new idea.....using nothing but solids and embroidery embellishments. I am in the process of adding solids to my stash and when I feel I have enough I'll pick up this project again.

While I was digging around in my closet, I found a cross stitch project I won from my friend Myra.

She decided she would never complete it and had a drawing. This project is many years old and the thread dye lots have changed so I spent a week taking it apart. This will more than likely be my next cross stitch project after I finish this one:

I have gotten the detail stitching done on the upper section and started on the next section. This project has a long ways to go but is a fun pick up/put down thing to grab once in a while. Here's a picture of it so far:

I've also been knitting. I used up the last of the baby yarn I had on hand and made these little premie hats:

I purchased a book of 400 knitting stitches and picked some of the patterns that would work with these little hats. It was fun knitting something different with each one. Since I'm all out of baby yarn, I decided to start using up the cotton yarns and make some dish cloths. This is the first one:

So you can see that I have been keeping my hands busy as well as playing different games on the computer LOL. I just might drag out those last two block for the Aunt Millie since I have all my brights pulled out.....or not :0)

You have been very busy!! Looks like you spend your time creating instead of just blogging - good for you! I have a few cross-stitch projects put away that I started years ago and never finished. They just may get their turn someday.

Isn't it fun to be able to move from project to project as the mood strikes? Looks like you've been having fun.

keeping busy aren't you with a variety of things to work on. I think most of us are like that! we aren't happy with one project we have to have many.

Well, Chris, I have wondered what you have been doing. Of course, I can't say anything, as I haven't been blogging regularly either. LOL I like to have several projects going too. Actually, you might just have kicked off my love of cross stitching. Hmmm, maybe I should see if I have any cross stitch patterns that I haven't made yet. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday. Not sure what is in store for us, but at least it is cooler! (grin)

I can no longer do counted cross stitch, but I do love the ones I see done by other people. You appear to do an excellent job with it! How nice of you to make those premie caps, too. yes...time does fly.....seems like we were all just comparing snowfall amounts and here summer is nearly over!

Oh what a fun fun fun post. Your cross stitch in amazzzzzing!

Funny you bring up solids. I've been discussing how to use those "only" with more than one friend lately. I'll be really intrigued watching you work with them. Will you count a Hand-dyed as a solid?

…and no kidding but I'm ready to start crocheting already. I've decided its fall and time to work on my afghan so I can hand it over to the cats because I'm a slave. BTW, I've decided autumn but the Gods still feel its too early. …so I'm pushy?

Crispy, I had to laugh when I read your "or not" ! I love your quirkiness :)

Your comment about not wanting to use brights on your project reminds me: I keep looking at this Kim McLean pattern: Princess Feathers, that I just had to have. Well, now that I have it, I can't seem to picture myself making it in those wild colors. But I can't picture making it in sedate colors either, so it just sets there.

Stars and Sprigs was originally made in reproduction fabrics, so I can't see why you should choose your own arrangement. I'm sure it would work. I do love those little premie beanies. How nice of you to knit something so useful. That cross stitch is so seductive. No wonder you dabble in it. It can be daunting to have so many things on the go, but you seem to manage so well.

cross stitch is beautiful
love the cute preemie hats, I used to make them too but our hospital has stopped accepting them. So funny you posting about Stars and Sprigs I was just thinking about working on that quilt and let it be my fall quilt this year to make.

OMGosh! What an adorable pic of Saige!! I usually catch up with you in Reader so I haven't been here directly for awhile. I love your xstitch. I used to sit for hours doing that and after seeing yours I realize that I do miss it. But I don't think the old eyes will let me do it anymore. You just keep posting so I can enjoy seeing yours.

I love your projects - you have been busy. I tend to use solids or "look like solids" in my quilts.

I love the idea of embroidery on quilts too - just gives them a bit more character.

Oh! you sound like me -where is all my stuff, what am I doing....
Love the preemie hats - I remember when you won the stitchery, it's so pretty.

Oh Crispy, I have several of my Aunt Millie's to finish as well! Looks like you've been super busy with lots of projects. How do you do it? I don't have very many solids myself. Have you checked out the bella solids? A Thousand bolts website usually has a lot of them. I like the weight of those vs the konas myself.
